Imagenation Abu Dhabi has hired Rami Yasin as its head of production as the company prepares to unveil its first Arabic project.
Yasin previously served as head of production and partner at Filmworks in Dubai and will work alongside vice president of development Daniela Tully.
The company has expanded Tully’s role to include all creative affairs for regional Emirati film production as well as content that falls under Imagenation Abu Dhabi’s Participant Media and National Geographic partnerships.
Yasin’s credits include Syriana, The Kingdom and Body Of Lies. He also wrote, directed and acted in the pilot for the Arabic sitcom Marhabtain.
“Rami’s outstanding expertise in regional production paired with Daniela’s commitment and contribution to Imagenation and Abu Dhabi this past year are tremendous assets to the company,” Imagenation Abu Dhabi COO Stefan Brunner said.
Imagenation Abu Dhabi was launched in September 2008 to develop, finance and produce features and digital content for Arabic and global markets. The Arabic content division was subsequently announced in January.
