The Toronto-based company arrives at the AFM with worldwide rights on the vampire tale to star Michael Biehn. Raven Banner to produce with Unstable Ground Inc.
McConnell [pictured] will direct the genre tale from his screenplay. Biehn will star in the story of a 500-year vampire who wants to die and sets out to find a worthy adversary in combat.
Production on The Eternal is set for 2013 and the producers will announce additional casting shortly. The cast includes Adam Kenneth Wilson, who co-wrote the screenplay with McConnell and the late Kevin Hutchinson.
Canadian producer Avi Federgreen will oversee production and Lorne Gross, McConnell, and the Raven Banner team serve as executive producers.
“When I first read the script it reminded me of early James Cameron, and I knew I had to do the film,” said Biehn. “I’m really looking forward to working with Justin. It’s going to be a fun movie.“
Raven Banner Entertainment managing partners Michael Paszt and James Fler negotiated the deal with Unstable Ground Inc’s Justin McConnell. Raven Banner will also handle sales at AFM on McConnell’s new documentary Skull World.
