Recreation Media and The Film Collaborative have taken worldwide rights to Jody Shapiro’s How To Start Your Own Country ahead of its world premiere tonight.

Orly Ravid of The Film Collaborative (TFC) and Recreation Media’s Ariel Veneziano negotiated the deal with producers Shapiro and Phyllis Laing.

Veneziano will handle traditional sales while Ravid and business partner Jeffrey Winter explore new media platforms.

Former Screen International Canadian correspondent Denis Seguin wrote and served as co-producer on the film, which examines the formation of micro-nations.
