Regent Worldwide Sales has acquired international rights to Blayne Weaver’s romantic comedy Weather Girl starring Tricia O’Kelley and Mark Harmon.
Regent spotted the film at Slamdance and struck the deal with
Submarine. The story centres on a Seattle TV weather girl who embarks
on an affair with her brother’s best friend after she learns that her
anchorman boyfriend has cheated on her.
O’Kelley produced the film with Steak House and the film also stars
Jon Cryer, Ryan Devlin, Jane Lynch, Kaitlin Olson and Patrick J Adams.
Weather Girl is a Secret Identity Productions’ film in association
with T&A Pictures, Steakhaus Productions, and H2R Productions.
‘We were hugely pleased with the response in Park City and the
interest from film distributors,’ Weaver said. ‘We took many meetings
about the future of Weather Girl but Regent’s reputation and track
record along with their love for the film made it an easy choice.’
