Singam will be released on more than 30 screens in 24 cities.

Reliance MediaWorks’ BIG Cinemas has unprecedented release plans for its Tamil-language film Singam.

It will be released on more than 30 screens in 24 cities across the US, marking the largest-ever release of a Tamil film in the US. Of the 30 screens, 10 are self-owned BIG Cinemas theatres.

The action film, about a cop battling smuggling in Rameshwaram, is directed by Hari and stars Surya, Anushka Shett, Prakash Raj and Vivek.

Tamil composer Devi Sri Prasad composed the film’s music.

BIG is also organizing a contest to find Surya’s biggest fan in America.
