There is no shock here. The indie sector has been on a steady decline for years now. The business model no longer works. The cost of production, distribution and talent is too high. Streamers have flattened the market and the industry in the UK has largely been dominated by too few companies desperately clinging to their slice of the pie. It's over. That said, someone will come up with a new model, one that is hopefully sustainable in the long term because the current model is broken beyond repair. There are too many middlemen in the chain, too much waste, and too many films that shouldn't have been made.
