In Berlin and Cannes they were told that audiences only want of 'middle of the road' movies with well know cast - there is no audience data to support this but hey it's the shortest route to a bonus cheque for seller I guess. As for the recent BSF report it would be nice if one of these expensive documents were compiled by someone other than statisticians and if financiers could somehow counter their biased presumption when offering commentary - the tired old notion that producers dream up movie ideas to please only themselves without first looking for the audience.
