Comment

Prizes are a key way of bringing attention to new films - so it would be a real shame to lose the competitive section. Things like the Michael Powell Award and the Audience Award are important. The London Film Festival realised this, which is why they started their own competitive section. And please please please can the festival move out of its June slot. It's too close to Cannes - and really loses an energy by not being part of the August festivals.
