Agreed. Downtown is not the answer. It will kill AFM. Sellers that have stuck with AFM because they have been grandfathered into the best Loews suites, will now be free to find their own offices nearby for the few years that AFM survives (as FilmNation and Wild Bunch are already doing in Santa Monica). Why would anybody pay IFTA's inflated prices for sub-par suites, when they could set up a spectacular loft or storefront space nearby for a fraction of the cost? Also, Downtown is not much more convenient to AFI than Santa Monica. It is still a long drive away. If AFM wants to truly join forces with AFI, then they should move to Hollywood. Even then, sellers will set up their own offices outside of IFTA's control, and it will still spell the end of AFM. The only chance they have of surviving is to stay at the Loews in Santa Monica.
