UK distributor Revolver Entertainment has taken the exclusive UK and Ireland home entertainment rights to Turner Broadcasting System's Adult Swim.
Adult Swim is Turner's popular channel for non-conformist animation projects aimed at adults 18-34 years old.
Revolver gets rights to more than 100 US hit titles including Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Robot Chicken, 12 Ounce Mouse, Harvey Birdman-Attorney At Law and Space Ghost Coast To Coast.
Revolver plans to appoint a dedicated brand manager for the Adult Swim series, and the company plans to release at least 15 DVDs in the first year.
'We are already big fans of the shows. With our proven track record in handling and rapidly growing new branded content, Turner selected us to distribute Adult Swim here in Britain,' said Revolver managing director Justin Marciano. 'We are looking to capitalise on Turner's enormous success with the brand. We know it can cross continents and British audiences love this type of irreverent animation.'
Alan Musa, VP and channel manager of Adult Swim, added: 'We're delighted to have signed this deal with Revolver. Adult Swim has proven very popular on TV in the UK as well as online at www.adultswim.co.uk so we look forward to bringing its unique and non-conformist programming entertainment to a whole new audience.'
Revolver also signed a deal with Turner for home entertainment rights to Nuts TV, currently broadcasting in the UK on Sky and Freeview. Revolver will work with Turner to create Nuts TV branded DVD content aimed at young men.
