Paris-based sales companyRezo Films has announced Cannes pre-sales on 12 territories for Quebecois titleLa Belle Bete, Karim Hussain'sadaptation of the Marie-Claire Blais novel.
The film, co-produced byMontreal-based companies Equinoxe Productions and Screen Machine, has dealswith United Home Entertainment for Thailand and Vietnam, California Filmes for Brazil, Odeon for Greece and Cyprus, AQSfor the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and Overseas for Singapore and Brunei.
The psychological dramastars Carole Laure and Marc-Andre Grondin, star of the multiple-award-winning2005 Quebec production C.R.A.Z.Y.,as a mother and son who are a little too close.
Co-stars include CarolineDhavernas, David Lahaye and Sebastien Huberdeau. The film, currently inpost-production, will be released in Quebec in October.
