Directed by Rowan Woods, the ensemble drama is about survivors of a random restaurant shooting. The cast is toplined by Forest Whitaker who in his first production since winning the Oscar for best actor, plays a driving instructor who goes missing after the shooting. Kate Beckinsale, Guy Pearce and Dakota Fanning co-star.
The new picture is co-funded and produced by Naomi Despres and Bob Salerno's Artina Films. Filming has begun in Los Angeles while post-production will be carried out in Singapore by local production house Infinite Frameworks. The Asian premiere is scheduled for 2008 in Singapore.
MDA 's CEO Christopher Chia believes the partnerships will greatly benefit Singapore's media industry, 'from participation of our production companies to developing a core group of media specialist firms in areas such as entertainment law, media financing and film insurance.'
The first two international films partly financed under the LGF are The Girl in the Park featuring Kate Bosworth, Sigourney Weaver and Keri Russell, and Pushing Up Daisies starring Rose Byrne and Jay Baruchel. Singapore 's Oak3 Films and Infinite Frameworks have participated in the respective productions, both of which are currently in post-production.
Standard Chartered Bank serves as media financier to all three projects.
