Rio Film Festival top brass have slotted in a screening of Richard Rowley’s highly regarded documentary Dirty Wars in the Frontiers section on September 28.
The film premiered at Sundance at the start of the year and follows investigative reporter Jeremy Scahill as he focuses on the growth of the US Army’s JSOC anti-terror unit.
The screening will be followed by a discussion entitled Secrets And Lies between Scahill and The Guardian’s national security correspondent Glenn Greenwald, moderated by Atila Roque, director of Amnesty International, Brazil.
