The digital film based onthe story of rock band The Dawn alsotook away best sound and shared the best editing award with Rotonda. Ron Bryant was named bestdirector for Rotonda.
Batad: Sa Paang Palay, directed by Benji Garcia and Vic Acedillo Jr, sweptfour awards, including the special jury prize, best actor, best screenplay andbest production.
Launched last year, theall-digital Cinemalaya aims to support Filipino digital filmmakers. Every year,ten shortlisted filmmakers are each given a seed production grant of $10,000 (PHP500,000)to complete a full-length digital film for screening during the week-longfestival.
