The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) has handed out the awards in its short film programme.
The three Tiger Awards for Short Film went to Ah, Liberty! by Ben Rivers (UK), As I Lay Dying by Ho Yuhang (Malaysia) and Observando el cielo by Jeanne Liotta (US). Each comes with a prize of Euros 3,000.
This is the fourth year that the Tiger Awards for shorts have been presented. Twenty films (of up to 60 minutes) were in competition.
The shorts jury was comprised Moniek Toebosch (The Netherlands), Katia Rossini (Belgium), and Mike Hoolboom (Canada).
The Prix UIP Rotterdam Short Film Nominee for the European Film Awards was given to Joy by Joe Lawlor & Christine Molloy (UK) and that jury gave a special mention to Unlith by Mihai Grecu (France).
The Prix UIP jury was Coco Schrijber and Sietske Tjallingii of The Netherlands and Michael Hannigan of Ireland. That award offers a Euros 2,000 prize and nomination for the European Film Awards.
