Austin arrives as vp of international sales as the company announces it is expanding its production activities.
The former Capitol Films and THINKFilm head of sales previously launched his own sales company new Breakaway Media and will get busy in Cannes with the graphic novel adaptation Blood, among others.
The project is based on the DC / Vertigo graphic novel from JM DeMatteis and Kent Williams and follows a young man’s transformation into bloodsucker.
“I am delighted to have Mark represent LongTale’s diverse slate of indie films,” company founder Omar Kaczmarczyk said. “Mark has the knowledge and enthusiasm for success in the changing world of independent distribution.”
“I greatly admire Omar’s dedication to the best of independent film worldwide,” Austin added. “We have movies spanning the globe, from Venezuela [El Senor Presidente] to Tibet [Prince Of The Himalayas].”
