The series of 3D screenings at the BFI IMAX will run from January through to September 2011.
Samsung Electronics UK has kicked off the first in a series of 3D film screenings with Tron: Legacy at the BFI IMAX as part of its year-long partnership with the BFI.
The series will showcase one 3D blockbuster per month for the duration of the partnership, including Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Transformers, Thor and Cars 2.
Samsung 3D TVs will also be installed in the IMAX lobby, making the BFI IMAX the first commercial venue in the UK to feature 3D TVs for public use.
The 3D screenings will run between January 2011 until September 2011.
Director of the BFI, Amanda Nevill said: “Last year was a triumph for 3D films and, with the biggest screen in the UK, BFI IMAX showcases 3D in all its glory like nowhere else. Samsung are pioneers in the field of 3D TV and we are very pleased to be partnering with them over the coming year.”
