San Fu Maltha, the Dutch producer of Holland's Oscar entry BlackBook, has a dualexistence as joint managing director of new Indonesian distributor andexhibitor, Blitz. Through Queen, the acquisition arm of Blitz, he has picked upa raft of titles in the market.
Films that Blitz will be releasing in Indonesia include TheSpirit and Sense AndSensibilidad both fromOdd Lot, The Best Times Of Our Lives and Blackout from Capitol, In The Name Of The King and Blood Money from Boll AG, Penny Dreadful fromVoltage, Smart People, The Girl In The Park and Magicians from QED International, Power Of TheDark Crystal II fromOdyssey and Shark Baitfrom new UK sales outfit, Velvet Octopus.
Blitz, which Maltha runs with Ananda Sireghar, is in the processof building a new cinema chain in Indonesia. The first Blitz mutiplex inBandung is already up and running but will be given an official opening nextmonth. New cinemas are also being readied in Jakarta. The aim is to have 41screens in operation by the end of 2006.
