Daniel Monzon’s Cell 211 and Elias Querejeta’s Cerca De Tus Ojos are among the 19 films which will participate in San Sebastian’s Made In Spain section, highlighting key local titles of 2010.
The line-up includes a diverse range of fiction and non-fiction titles, including Monzon’s prison drama Cell 211, starring Luis Tosar and Alberto Ammann, which took an impressive $10m at the local box office; renowned producer Querejeta’s documentary Cerca De Tus Ojos; Julio Medem’s romantic drama Room In Rome; Oskar Santos’ thriller For The Good Of Others (El Mal Ajeno), produced by Alejandro Amenabar; Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza’s popular horror sequel [Rec] 2; and Emilio Aragon’s Paper Birds, which is selling well abroad.
There will also be the world premieres of Jordi Ferrer and Pablo Vidal’s documentary El Problema, Testimonio Del Pueblo Saharaui and Lilian Rosado González’s new drama Donde El Olor Del Mar No Llega.
The remaining titles are Sigfrid Monleón’s El Consul De Sodoma; Adán Aliaga and Juanjo Jiménez’s Esquivar Y Pegar; Adán Aliaga’s Estigmas; Jo Sol’s Fake Orgasm; Dunia Ayaso y Félix Sabroso’s The Island Inside; Félix Fernández de Castro’s María Y Yo; Miguel Albaladejo’s Nacidas Para Sufrir; Sebastian Cordero’s Rabia; Anna Sanmarti’s La Tierra Habitada and Nacho G. Velilla’s Que Se Mueran Los Feos, which took a very healthy $9m at the local box office.
