Canada’s E1 Entertainment and Marco Weber’s new US releasing outfit Senator Distribution havesigned a six picture all-media distribution agreement for five films in Canada and one for the UK. Thedeal includes digital rights.
The Canadian deal covers:
- The Informers, directed by Gregor Jordand and produced by Weber. It stars Billy Bob Thornton, Kim Bassinger, Mickey Rourke and Winona Ryder and opens in North America this week
- All The Boys Love Mandy Lane, the murder mystery directed by Jonathan Levi, and starring Amber Heard
- Clocktower, an adaptation of the Capcom video game of the same name with Martin Weisz (The Hills Have Eyes 2) attached to direct a script by Eric Poppen; -
- The Greatest, featuring Pierce Brosnan and Susan Saradon alongside rising star Carey Mulligan, set for release in Spring 2010. It is Shana Feste’s directing debut.
The fifth title, destined for UK and Canadian distribution through E1 Entertainment, is Jordan’s next production, Unthinkable, featuring Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Sheen and Martin Donovan. Weber is also the producer and it is also set for release in 2010.
E1 Entertainment president, filmed entertainment, Patrice Theroux, said in a statement: “This partnership is a natural fit for E1 as Senator is a fresh and dynamic new voice in US distribution. Marco Weber has assembled a very impressive roster of films and we’re delighted that they have chosen E1 as their partner of choice in Canada.”
