French blockbuster Taxi 3 parked in the number one spot in its second week, selling 7,503 admissions improving 35% on its launch for distributor Pro Vision.
Tuck's A Man Apart sold 4,146 tickets in its prolonged opening weekend, garnering $11,018 and taking the third position, behind the former four-week champion, and stablemate, Daddy Day Care which the crossed 50,000 admission mark. A Man Apart stars Vin Diesel as a DEA agent out for revenge when the mysterious new head of a drug cartel kills his wife. It was directed by F Gary Gray who is currently enjoying a hit elsewhere with The Italian Job.
Both local favorites are still hanging in the top 10: The Professional has received an additional boost after winning the best script and FIPRESCI awards in Montreal and rose to fourth position with an increase of 32% compared to last week, reaching $398,762 from 172,603 admissions in 17 weeks. The legendary Zamfir's Zona played in seventh position in its 45th week.
