UK independent production company Bonne Idée Productions is shooting its new feature, Cal, a follow-up to 2009 feature Shank.
The new film is shooting now in Bristol, with a six-week shoot ending March 3.
This film is described as “more of a standalone film than a sequel.”
The titular character, again played by Wayne Virgo, returns to a broken Bristol after spring/summer riots.
“We put out flyers across the city for any footage that observers might have of the disturbances and the result was incredible - we have coverage that palpably identifies the frustrations of the rioting mob that has blended brilliantly into the narrative of the film,” said writer-director-producer Christian Martin. (He co-wrote Shank, which was directed by Simon Pearce.)
The cast will also include Daniel Brocklebank, Emily Corcoran, Lucy Russell and Berni Hodges.
Jack O’Dowd is serving as cinematographer and co-director.
