The festival is teaming up with European body Documentary Campus to try and encourage co-productions.
Sheffield Doc/Fest is teaming up with European organisation Documentary Campus to produce what is being described by its organisers as “the biggest industry conference in Europe.”
The event, which is aimed at encouraging more co-productions between the UK and Europe, will take place during the 2011 edition of Sheffield Doc/fest in its new June slot (8-12).
Donata von Perfall, director of Documentary Campus, which was set up 10 years ago to provide training for talent in the European documentary sector, said the plan was to “create a new and unique platform for the exchange of knowledge and to set new trends. The Industry Conference will become the central core for documentary professionals.”
Sheffield Doc/Fest director Heather Croall described it as “a natural partnership - both organisations value quality, agenda setting sessions and both want to create an even more dynamic meeting ground for the documentary industry.”
