The documentary about Britain’s coastlines is being directed by Penny Woolcock and will have its premiere at Sheffield Doc/Fest in June.
British film-maker Penny Woolcock is directing cross-platform interactive documentary From The Sea To The Land Beyond, which has been commissioned by The Space, a new on-demand digital arts service developed by the Arts Council and the BBC.
The hour-long film has been produced by Sheffield Doc/Fest and Crossover and will premiere at Doc/Fest on June 13 with a live musical score from UK band British Sea Power.
Using BFI archive footage the project aims to celebrate Britain’s coastlines. The film will also be available online on The Space until October.
Heather Croall, Sheffield Doc/Fest director, said: “This is the first time Sheffield Doc/Fest has produced a project especially for the festival, and we are thrilled that such amazing people have come on board the project with us”.
The BFI is handling world rights including theatrical, non-theatrical and DVD in the UK, with plans to release in 2013.
