The 2009 MeetMarket at Sheffield Doc/Fest is calling for submissions to the year’s event.
The market organisers will select up to 60 projects to take part in the event, which runs from November 4 – 8.
It is open to UK and international filmmakers and producers and projects can be at any stage of development and finance. It will consider documentaries across any genre of documentary/factual, from factual entertainment through to cross-platform documentaries.
Buyers, commissioners, and funders will view the selected online one-minute pitch teasers, along with one-page treatments, in advance of Doc/Fest. From this, they will identify which projects they would like to discuss in one-to-one meetings at MeetMarket.
Doc/Fest director Heather Croall said: “Last year’s MeetMarket was an unprecedented success generating $12.5 (£7.8m) in negotiation. We’re expecting 2009 to be even busier”.
