Shoreline Entertainment has picked up world sales rights to Habib Faisal’s Ishaqzaade: Born to Hate … Destined to Love.
Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra star as a son and daughter from rival families who become romantically involved while also fighting to maintain family standing.
Shoreline’s CEO Morris Ruskin said: “Of all the films produced in India this one really stands out and appeals to a worldwide audience. We are very excited to present it to the rest of the world.”
Yash Raj Films head of operations Avtar Panesar added: “TIFF was the perfect platform for us to showcase this film which started off as a small film in India but notched up a box office of $10 million. We are thrilled about our signing with Shoreline to take the film to and beyond the diaspora!”
Shoreline executive vice president Sam Eigen and director of acquisitions Melody Djavadi negotiated the deal with Panesar.
Shoreline is also representing Juan Carlos Maneglia & Tana Schémbori’s Paraguayan thriller 7 Boxes at TIFF.
