Wee Li Lin’s Forever will become the first Singaporean film to receive a double world premiere today (Dec 1) – screening at both the Jakarta and Cairo international film festivals.
The Mandarin-language romantic comedy stars Taiwanese actor Mo Tzu Yi, Singapore award-winning theatre actress Joanna Dong and newcomer Sarah Ng Li-Wen.
The film is financed by the Singapore Film Commission, Bobbing Buoy Films, Add Oil Films and Iceberg Design, and produced by former Screen International journalist Silvia Wong.
“Having two world premieres in Cairo and Jakarta is a perfect start for a film about two people who find love just at the crossroads of fantasy and reality,” said director Wee Li Lin.
Wee is attending the 12th Jakarta International Film Festival (Jiffest), along with art director Charles Lim, while Wong is attending the 34th Cairo International Film Festival.
The Singapore theatrical release of the film is scheduled for March 2011 through distributor Golden Village Pictures.
