Veteran producer/sales agent Alan Siritzky, owner of the Emmanuelle erotic franchise, is to partner with the controversial French twins Igor and Grichka Bogdanov, physicists best known for their popular TV series on science, on a feature documentary based on the brothers' 1991 best-seller God And Science (Dieu Et La Science). Siritzky also plans to develop TV projects with them.
The brothers were involved in a famous controversy in 2002 when they published papers purporting to explain 'Big Bang.' Some experts believed the papers were a deliberate hoax. However, they are credited with popularizing science through successful TV shows like Temps X and Rayons X.
Here in Santa Monica, Siritzky has revealed further details about the $50 million Emmanuelle 'prequel' What Else Emmanuelle' which he is co-producing with Alain Sarde. Siritzky and Sarde worked together on Emmanuelle IV, the last feature in the erotic franchise to have been released theatrically. The film will be shot in both 3D and 2D formats.
Siritzky is launching a worldwide search for a new actress to play Emmanuelle, the role made famous in the early 1970s by Sylvia Kristel. He is planning a Project Greenlight-style reality TV show, Hunting For Emmanuelle, chronicling the audition process, to accompany the feature film. The woman who wins the role will be guaranteed $1m. Would-be contestants can also submit audition films via YouTube. The new Emmanuelle will be signed up for five years. Siritzky has joined forces with Robert Gerson, former president of Mattel in France, to work on the merchandising of the property.
