SnagFilms has entered into Founders’ Alliances with Hot Docs in Toronto, Outfest in Los Angeles and North Carolina’s Full Frame Documentary Film Festival.
The has also entered deals with the film competitions group CINE and the International Documentary Association.
SnagFilms will carry channels on its website for each festival and organisation, providing free, complete viewing of films they will select from titles that have received current or past festival screenings.
The deal paves the way for visitors to embed widgets featuring select films from the new partners and provides a platform for future co-premieres and online-only festival screenings.
The company also said it would make it easier for film-makers whose work has been screened at any of more than 100 international festivals to submit their films for expedited review and distribution through SnagFilms.
Since launching in July, the company said widgets containing one or more films from its library have appeared on more than 21,000 different web pages and been seen more than 500m times.
