EXCLUSIVE: Former Pathe exec Rachel Woodward joins UK distributor.
UK distributor Soda Pictures has appointed former Pathe executive Rachel Woodward as head of distribution.
Woodward, who assumes the role immediately, was formerly head of home entertainment for Pathe Productions for seven years and was most recently an independent industry consultant.
Woodward takes over from Kate Gerova, who left the London-based outfit in January to go to Bird’s Eye View.
In its tenth anniversary year, Soda is looking to widen its acquisition scope and diversify activities with the help of investment vehicle Soda Film Investments. Screen last week announced the company’s first production investment, Ralph Fiennes drama Two Women.
Co-founder Eve Gabereau said: “After 10 years of business, we feel we are moving in a new and exciting direction of growth and diversification across the film value chain. Having Rachel on-board will allow us to do this and to maximise the full potential of our team, new films and library.”
Soda’s upcoming slate includes SXSW jury prize winner Gimme the Loot, French biopic Renoir and award-winning Saudi drama Wadjda.
