Spanish media group Sogecable has renewed its output TV deal with Columbia Tristar International Television for another five years beginning in January 2003.
The original deal, signed in 1997, gave Sogecable exclusive rights to Columbia films for its pay-TV and pay-per-view (PPV) services on platforms Canal Plus and Canal Satelite Digital (CSD), the latter launched the same year.
Titles included in the new deal for CSD's PPV service include America's Sweethearts, A Knight's Tale, Black Hawk Down; titles for Canal Plus and CSD film channel Cinemania include forthcoming pictures Stuart Little II, Men In Black 2, Spiderman and The Panic Room.
Sony Pictures Entertainment's action-oriented AXN channel has aired on CSD since 1998.
