Spain's Sogepaq has closed all-rights deals for distribution in the United States on Daniel Sanchez-Arevalo's DarkBlueAlmostBlack to Strand Releasing and on Emilio Martinez Lazaro's The 2 Sides Of The Bed to Here! Films.

Mongrel Media took Canadian rights to both films in deals that were all closed at the European Film Market in Berlin.

Sogepaq head of international Simon de Santiago notes both US deals were long in the making. 'It is hard these days to close theatrical deals for Spanish films but there are still distributors out there and independents eager to find niche films,' he said.

Already a hit on the festival circuit, where among other prizes it won the Europa Cinemas Label for Best European film in Venice Days, Tesela Producciones' DarkBlueAlmostBlack (AzulOscuroCasiNegro) has sold widely around the world.

It recently picked up three Goya Awards from the Spanish Film Academy, including best new director, best new actor for Quim Gutierrez and best supporting actor for Antonio de la Torre.

here! Films will give 2 Sides (Los 2 Lados De La Cama) a theatrical release through sister company Regent Releasing. It was Spain's second top-grossing local film of 2005.

Producers Telespan 2000, Estudios Picasso and Impala were also partners on the runaway hit prequel, The Other Side Of The Bed (El Otro Lado De La Cama).
