2012 brings a new series of exclusive parties at the Storys building in Toronto.
It’s been a festival hotspot for the past few years as the location for the pop-up Soho House. But with Soho House now getting its own permanent Toronto outpost, the four-story, 170-year-old Storys building at 11 Duncan Street is creating a new kind of stir this year.
In their annual collaboration on TIFF event production, the Los Angeles-based communications and special events company A-List Communications and Toronto hospitality group ICON Legacy Hospitality are making use of a new venue for red carpet special events. Under the sponsorship of AMC and Virgin Mobile, the AMC Storys venue will serve as the Virgin Mobile Arts & Cinema Center for the 2012 Festival, hosting events for high-profile festival films.
For the past nine years, A-List Communications and ICON Legacy have teamed up to produce premiere events at TIFF, including last year’s receptions for The Killer Elite, Dark House, The Lady and Woman in the Fifth. Their 2012 programme will include parties for What Maisie Knew, The Fitzgerald Family Christmas, Writers, At Any Price, and The Iceman. Today also sees the launch of a gifting suite for VIPs.
Last night the soirees kicked off with a star-studded party for Dredd 3D.
