It is the latest investment to be made through Northern Film & Media’s £2.4m Creative Content Fund, which is backed by investment company Northstar Ventures.
Paul Andrew Williams’ comedy drama Song For Marion has been awarded £150,000 through Northern Film & Media and Northstar Ventures’ £2.4m Creative Content Fund.
Steve Bowden’s Newcastle-based production company Vita Nova Films has also received £150,000 from the fund, which is due to run out by the end of 2011. Projects on the Vita Nova slate include a collaboration with directors Janos Edelenyi and Screen star of tomorrow Tom Marshall.
Shot on-location in County Durham, Song for Marion stars Terence Stamp, Vanessa Redgrave and Gemma Arterton.
Other films backed by the Creative Content Fund include urban crime feature The Man Inside, dark family drama January, and feature length TV drama United.
