Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) has signed a video on demand (VOD) agreement with Belgian telecom operator Belgacom.
The deal was negotiated by Andreas Brosjo at SPTI and Ingrid De Coninck at Belgacom.
Under the deal, SPTI will provide movie content from the Sony Pictures current slate as well as library titles. Films covered initially include Spider-Man 3, Super Bad, Easy Rider and Charlie's Angels.
The Belgacom service went live on Nov 27 and lets Belgacom TV customers watch movies through a TV set top box.
Stuart Baxter, executive vice president, distribution, SPTI, said: 'We are pleased to agree this VOD deal with such a strong player in the Belgian market. Working with Belgacom not only allows us to offer customers the best recent and library feature films but gives us a platform to launch new services in the future. We continue to gain ground in building our digital distribution business across Europe and in broadening the customer base for delivering content into the home.'
