Antena 3 Films, the film production arm of Spain broadcaster Antena 3
Television, has come aboard Universal Pictures and Working Title's
untitled Green Zone thriller as part financier.

Paul Greengrass' film is filming in Spain, Morocco and the UK and
stars Matt Damon, Greg Kinnear, Brendan Gleeson, Amy Ryan, Khalid
Abdalla and Jason Isaacs.

The story takes place in Baghdad's high security Green Zone as a
foreign correspondent tracks a pair of CIA agents on the trail of
weapons of mass destruction.

Brian Helgeland adapted the screenplay from Rajiv Chandrasekaran's novel Imperial Life In The Emerald City.

'Financing this thriller is a big step forward for Antena 3's international expansion with European co-productions,' Tedy Villalba, Antena 3 Films' head in Madrid, said.

'Following in the path of films such as Woody Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona, we are looking forward to extending our reach with Universal.'

'Antena 3 will continue to invest in films with international appeal
that allow us to work with such talented directors as Paul Greengrass
and the great performers assembled on this project,' Alvaro Ron,
executive producer for Antena 3 Films in Los Angeles, added.
Villalba and Ron will serve as associate producers on the film.

Antena 3 Films is currently producing Joe Stillman's animation comedy Planet 51.
