Madrid-based outfit Imagina will be introducing buyers to Spanish buzz title Paper Birds (Pájaros de Papel) during the EFM.
The $8.2m (€6m) period drama marks the directorial debut of actor, TV presenter and producer, Emilio Aragón. Its Spanish release is set for mid-March.
Co-written by Aragón and Fernando Castets, Paper Birds is about a group of music-hall artists eking out an existence on the road in post-war Spain.
The cast is led by a host of familiar faces from Spanish film and TV, among them Imanol Lluís Homar, Carmen Machi and highly feted child actor Roger Príncep (The Orphanage) (pictured).
”Paper Birds is a journey that reveals the very best of human nature, a courageous gamble on love in the face of our own suffering,” the director commented.
It is produced by Versátil Cinema and and Antena 3 Films.
