Co-founders Simone Urdl and Jennifer Weiss made the announcement on Tuesday (4).
Traynor served as line producer on Midnight’s Children, which screened at Telluride and will receive its official world premiere at Toronto.
His line producing credits for The Film Farm include the Atom Egoyan films Chloe and Adoration as well as Brian De Palma’s Redacted. He also served in the same capacity on Incendies and If I Were You.
“We have worked closely with Stephen on several projects,” Urdl said. “We value his expertise, his creativity and his keen eye for projects and talent.”
“Having Stephen as a core member of the team will allow The Film Farm to expand its production and development slates,” Weiss added. “He makes us better and stronger. That’s what you want in a partner.”
“I have enormous respect for Jennifer and Simone,” Traynor said. “The company is in the vanguard of excellence on the current Canadian scene. I look forward to contributing to its growth.”
