3-D Animated family feature Sunshine Barry And The Disco Worms has
burrowed its way into new territories.
On the eve of Cannes, Sola Media has confirmed deals in Brazil
(Imagem), CIS (Atelje), Czech & Slovak Republics (Dimas), Former
Yugoslavia (MFC & Continental), Poland (Kino Swiat), Middle East
(Shooting Star) and Turkey (Tiglon.)
Sunshine Barry will be released in Scandinavia in the late autumn by SF Film AB.
The film will include cover versions of 10 disco hits including Disco
Inferno, YMCA, I Will Survive, Don't Blame It On The Boogie, Up Side
Down.
Sunshine Barry And The Disco Worms is about Barry, an earthworm trying to wriggle away from his position at the bottom of the food chain.
Rather than accept a life as a middle manager in a composting
business, he yearns to be the star of the world's greatest disco band.
The project was recently showcased at the Cartoon Movie co-production
market in Babelsberg. The $4.9 million project is directed by Thomas
Borch Nielsen and produced by Nina Crone and Solveig Langeland.
