The 'fly on the wall' documentary on the Berlin Philharmonic's tour of Asia in 2005 has been sold to France (Films Sans Frontieres), Japan (Cetera International), the United Kingdom (Axiom Films), Poland (Gutek Film), Switzerland (Xenix) and Austria (Polyfilm).
Sales negotiations for further territories are also currently underway.
The film, which was produced by Boomtown Media in co-production with broadcasters BBC and ZDF, received its premiere in the Berlinale Special sidebar last February and has clocked up over 110,000 admissions for Piffl Medien on its German theatrical release so far.
The film focuses on the fascinating collection of diverse personalities who make up the microcosmos of the Philharmonic and follows on from Grube's successful collaboration with the Berlin Philharmonic and lead conductor Sir Simon Rattle on the multi-award-winning documentary Rhythm Is It!
