Cologne-based sales agent The Match Factory has unveiled another raft of deals for this year's Cannes slate in addition to the previously annonuced sales.
By the end of the market, the animated documentary and competition film Waltz With Bashir by Ari Folman had been sold to over 40 territories, the latest including Australia (Sharmill Films) and Scandinavia (Future Film).
Deals on Sergey Dvortsevoy's feature debut Tulpan, which won the Un Certain Regard Prize, the Prix de la Jeunesse and the Prix de l'Education Nationale, have since been concluded for France (ARP), Spain (Karma), the Benelux (Lumiere), Turkey (Ankara Film Association), Israel (Nachshon Films), Hong Kong (First Distributors) and Australia (Palace Film).
Meanwhile, in addition to winning the Un Certain Regard jury's 'Coup de Coeur' award, Andreas Dresen's Cloud 9 touched buyers' hearts, selling to Portugal (Atalanta) and Canada (Mongrel Media), France (ASC), the Benelux (CNC), Switzerland (Filmcoopi), Greece (Seven One), and Spain (Baditri).
Moreover, Norwegian filmmaker Bent Hamer's O'Horten sold to over 15 territories, with deals closed in the second half of the market for Japan (Longride), Australia (Aztec), Italy (Archibald Enterprise), Benelux (CNC), Hungary (Budapest Film) and Poland (Vivarto), while Lisandro Alonso's Directors' Fortnight entry Liverpool was picked up for The Netherlands (Filmmuseum), Greece (Artplex Attica) and Poland (Manana).
At the same time, the Danish-German co-production Flame & Citron, which has been seen by more than 640,000 cinema-goers since its theatrical release in Denmark, has now also sold to Australia (Rialto), Spain (Alta Film), Greece (Ama) and Japan (Alcine Terran).
