Safy Nebbou's French thriller Mark Of An Angel has sold to the UK (Metrodome), Greece (Odeon), Canada (Seville), and Switzerland (Xenix). Catherine Frot and Sandrine Bonnaire star. Diaphana is about to cross $5m with its domestic release and Lumiere released in Belgium. That film will screen here in Toronto's Contemporary World Cinema section.
Takeshi Kitano's Achilles And The Tortoise, a Venice Competitor that also plays here in Masters, has sold to France (Ocean) and Russia (Maywin).
Marco Bechis' colonialism drama Birdwatchers has sold to the UK (Artificial Eye), Germany (Pandora), Benelux (Cinemien), Austria (Filmladen), Switzerland (Trigon), and Australia (Hopscotch).
Celluloid has also come on board for sales of Toronto Special Presentation title
Youssou NDour: I Bring What I Love, Chai Vasarhelyi's feature-length documentary about the musician. The film premieres Saturday and NDour will also give a free public concert.
Celluloid's Toronto slate also includes Baltasar Kormakur's White Night Wedding (Contemporary World Cinema) and Jacques-Remy Girerd's Mia And The Migoo (Sprockets Family Zone), with a voice cast including Dany Boon.
