Johnny Depp is to record a new narration for When You're Strange, Tom DiCillo's documentary about The Doors which had its world premiere at Sundance and plays here in berlin in Panorama Dokumente.

DiCillo himself had provided the original voiceover, but he announced at Saturday night's screening that Depp would begin work on the new version in the next few weeks.

'Johnny saw the film early on,' said Peter Jankowski. 'We showed him an early cut and he responded very strongly to the subject matter.'
