Strand Releasing has acquired all US rights to Emily Abt’s friendship drama Toe To Toe following its premiere at Sundance earlier in the year.

Louisa Krause and Sonequa Martin play high school friends – a driven scholarship student and promiscuous girl from a privileged background – at a competitive Washington DC prep school.

Abt produced through her Pureland Pictures with Susan Leber of Suzie Q Productions.

Strand’s Jon Gerrans negotiated the deal with Rena Ronson of William Morris Independent. Strand recently picked up The Missing Person and Love Of Siam.
