UPDATED: Rollout will start in January 2014 in Peru and Chile; company also adds another Colombian deal.
Arts Alliance Media has signed a Latin American VPF deal, with Peru’s Cineplanet agreeing to rollout digital to over 200 screens across Peru and Chile under AAM’s VPF programme in association with Latin American integrator Quanta-DGT. This follows AAM’s VPF deal with the US studios for Latin America for 2012.
The rollout will begin in January 2014, and will involve Barco projectors, Doremi servers and central equipment from Bardan being installed by locally-based Bardan engineers.
The deal will also use AAM’s theatre management system software Screenwriter.
Fernando Soriano [pictured], CEO of Cineplanet, said of the deal “After a thorough analysis of all the VPF solutions offered in Latin America, and several trials of hardware and software, we selected the AAM-DGT VPF program as the best solution for our digitisation. In addition to their know-how and experience in digital cinema, we know that they offer the best tools and software solutions so that we can rely on them to help us bring the best experience to our customers for years to come”
Eric Stevens, Commercial Director of Arts Alliance Media, commented “We at AAM are enormously proud to be working with Cineplanet, one of the region’s premier exhibitors. The Latin American digital cinema conversion is now most certainly in full swing.”
Guillaume Thomine-Desmazures, AAM’s Senior Sales Manager, added “We have been working with our Latin American partners DGT and Bardan for a long time establishing the best digital cinema solution for the market, and we’re delighted that Latin America is moving forward with the transition, and very proud that the leading independent chain has chosen AAM’s VPF and TMS software to make the transition with.”
Colombian expansion
Separately, AAM has signed a VPF deal with Colombian exhibitor Royal Films. Working with AAM will be Quanta-DGT to convert 136 screens to digital. Again, the work will start in early 2014 with local integrator partner Bardan.
Habib Osman, CEO of Royal Films, said “We’re delighted to have Arts Alliance Media as our digital cinema partner, we have seen how their expertise is helping the digital conversion throughout Latin America, and are looking forward to having their software to simplify our operations and unlock the benefits of digital for our cinemas.”
AAM already has a software deal with Cine Colombia.
