Backup and Cannes market partner on new rights management service called MoveChainer.

Backup Media and the Cannes market are partnering to launch a new rights management service for Cinando users, called MovieChainer, this summer.

The cloud-based app will enable filmmakers to keep records of their films’ contracts and monitor their royalties.

The service gives an overview of the entire rights chain, from a writer’s agreement to a theatrical, video or televisiondistribution deal in a given territory, enabling revenue sharing simulation and calculation.

A simplified version of the software will bemade available on Cinando to any registered company free of charge, starting this summer. A complete version will be released in September.

The MovieChainer software was developed by BMedia Management’s film and television asset manager Jean Roman for Backup Media.

Private demos of the software will be held during the Cannes market.
