BT Vision has signed a content deal with FXUK - bolstering its offering ahead of the launch of a dedicated entertainment portal.
The deal will enable subscribers to stream the Fox-owned channel and offers VoD access to shows such as The Walking Dead, True Blood, Dexter and Falling Skies.
Fox UK managing director Jason Thorp said: “We are delighted to give BT’s customers the chance to enjoy FX’s stellar line up of first run exclusive content.”
It is the latest agreement negotiated by BT Vision as it builds a dedicated entertainment portal that is due to go live later this year.
In March, BT Vision agreed a deal with UKTV to stream entertainment channels Alibi, Gold and Watch.
UKTV’s content will also be available on-demand on a pay-per-view basis with further deals expected.
BT Vision, which has 679,000 subscribers, is adopting IPTV delivery of content via its internet connected set-top boxes to save costs when compared with DTT distribution.
BT Vision’s chief executive Marc Watson said the business was “moving fast” to sign more broadcasters.
“Linear channels take BT Vision to another level and offer customers the chance to catch the shows live or play them on-demand,” he said.
