London event to be held March 27-28.
The inugural 3D Creative Summit, to be held at the BFI Southbank in London on March 27-28, will welcome speakers including David Attenborough, DreamWorks Animation’s Phil McNally and Sky 3D director John Cassy.
Other speakers will include Jim Chabin, president of the international 3D society; Anthony Geffen, executive producer of Galapagos 3D and Cameron Saunders, managing director UK theatrical for 20th Century Fox.
Ravensbourne and the International 3D Society are producing the two-day event that will highlight creative teams working in 3D film and TV.
The summit will also include screenings and Q&As with Mr Stink director Declan Lowney and Inside The Mind of Leonardo director Julian Jones.
Offerings also include a 3D Online Showcase with SGO’s Geoff Mills and ONSIGHTS’ Andy Shelley and 3D & The Cinema with Saunders, Odeon’s Drew Kaza and Deluxe’s Richard Fish.
The new 3D Producers Lab will give selected producers access to UK and global 3D experts.
Also, a research strand will be led by Ravensbourne’s Dr Lizzie Jackson.
“As the quality and quantity of compelling material increases, 2013 could well be a significant tipping point with 3D coming of age,” said Adam May of the International 3D Society, who is a co-executive producer of the event alongside Ravensbourne’s Carrie Wootten.
The event is funded by Creative Skillset and sponsored by Sky 3D, Vision 3, Onsight, SGO, Deluxe Digital Cinema EMEA.
