EXCLUSIVE: The Los Angeles-based producer-distributor has hired Maura Ford to oversee its ambitious international digital distribution operation from a new office in London.
The sales executive will continue to serve as managing director of 7&7 Producer’s Sales Service, the boutique sales agency she established in 2010.
Inception Media Group holds direct selling relationships with US-based digital retailers such as iTunes, Netflix, Amazon and GooglePlay.
Top brass are keen to help international distributors, television networks and producers make their content available in their respective markets as well as other territories.
Inception Media Group also plans to increase the number of online and broadcast media channels it distributes throughout Europe.
“There is a growing demand among digital retailers for content suppliers to provide a steady flow of quality films and entertainment programming across all platforms,” said Inception Media Group evp of operations Burgess Wilson. “While large distributors and studios negotiate their own direct deals, smaller distribution companies and independent producers generally require a champion who can represent and distribute their content to the various digital retailers and broadcast media platforms. Inception is perfectly positioned to be that champion.”
“I’m thrilled to be part of Inception’s international expansion and digital strategy,” said Ford, who worked in sales at Lakeshore, The Samuel Goldwyn Company, Franchise Pictures and Fireworks Pictures before moving to London to handle business affairs for HanWay Films and Content Media Corporation.
“Our ability to offer film-makers a digital pipeline for their films is invaluable as consumers continue to embrace the transition from packaged goods to digital.”
Inception Digital Services, which Inception Media Group recently sold to Bonded Services Group, will continue to provide all technical support.
