Lakeshore Entertainment announced on Monday [Apr 8] the arrival of Lakeshore Premium Digital Content and has appointed Todd Olsson to run the unit.
The new venture will handle digital distribution of the company’s catalogue and begins roll-out at MIPTV.
Lakeshore recently commenced a digitisation process for its 500-plus library and has built what it claims to be “an innovative digital distribution system with the goal of providing direct consumer access through key digital partnerships.”
Catalogue titles include the four Underworld films and Million Dollar Baby.
Despite the arrival of svp of Lakeshore International Olsson, Jason Buckley will continue to handle international sales.
“Todd brings over twenty years of studio and independent experience that aligns with Lakeshore,” said Lakeshore COO Eric Reid. “We are looking forward to his forging a new type of digital partnership with our long-established distribution partners.”
“Lakeshore has always been at the cutting edge of our business,” added Olsson. “They have a clear direction and vision for the future of how content is viewed by helping shorten the distribution distance between content and the audience.”
